2026 Annual Meeting Highlights Vol. 16 2026
Get Ready for PNS 2026 in Maastricht
13–16 June 2026
PNS 2026 is shaping up to be one of our most dynamic annual meetings yet. We are bringing an outstanding lineup of global leaders in peripheral nerve science to Maastricht, each delivering cutting‑edge insights that will set the tone for the year ahead. The program blends major scientific breakthroughs, fresh clinical perspectives, and future‑focused basic science that will energize researchers and clinicians alike.
Our plenary speakers are a major highlight. They include:
- Richard Finkel, MD, delivering an inspiring Closing Keynote Lecture on the remarkable journey from a deadly disease to possible transformative treatment in spinal muscular atrophy.
- Andrea Cortese, MD, PhD, sharing new advances in gene identification and functional mechanisms, including insights from RFC1 CANVAS.
- Catharina Faber, MD, PhD, speaking on small fiber neuropathy from the host city’s own Maastricht University Medical Centre.
- Claire Jacob, PhD, presenting on Schwann cell plasticity governs nerve regeneration.
- Bart Jacobs, MD, PhD, covering emerging therapeutic concepts in Guillain‑Barré syndrome.
- Elior Peles, PhD, discussing mechanisms of ion channel clustering and their implications for nerve excitability.
- Luca Scorrano, MD, PhD, exploring whether Charcot‑Marie‑Tooth IIA is rooted in membrane contact site dysfunction.
- Doug Wright, PhD, presenting new ideas on small fiber neuropathy in diabetes and its potential immunologic underpinnings.
The meeting opens on Saturday with the Education Course, followed by an energizing slate of plenaries, SIG sessions, abstract presentations, and opportunities for collaboration across specialties.
All of this will take place at the MECC Maastricht, an excellent venue in a vibrant European city known for its culture, walkability, and welcoming atmosphere for international delegates.
We are excited to welcome you to four days of science, connection, and discovery. Maastricht will be an ideal setting to exchange ideas, meet new collaborators, and take in the latest breakthroughs that are shaping the future of peripheral nerve research.
