PNS-WCN Parallel Symposium: Inflammatory Neuropathies and Myopathies

There have been many advances in diagnosis, understanding the pathogenic bases, and treatments of various forms of inflammatory myopathy (i.e., dermatomyositis, antisynthetase syndrome, immune mediated necrotizing myopathy, and inclusion body myositis) in the last few years. Likewise there are various forms of GBS (e.g., AIDP, AMAN, AMSAN) that may be caused by antibodies directed against myelin, the axon, or nodal/paranodal proteins). Finally, there are different forms of paraproteinemic neuropathies. This course will highlight the major advances in these disorders. Learning Objectives: 1. Update the advances in pathogenesis and treatment of the various inflammatory myopathies 2. Update the advances in pathogenesis and treatment of neuropathies associated with paraprotein 3.
