Memorial Announcement: Daniel Tanesse

Jun 3, 2025 | Archive, Peripheral Pulse

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Daniel Tanesse, a dedicated advocate for the Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) community in France and across Europe.

Daniel lived with CMT type 2 and, alongside his wife Marina Brocca, dedicated much of his life to advancing support, awareness, and research for those affected by the disease. He held key leadership roles in CMT France and co-founded the European CMT Federation (ECMTF), serving as its President until 2024 and later as Honorary President. He played a central role in building international partnerships, launching the European CMT Specialists Conference, and supporting the founding of the European CMT Research Association.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Marina Brocca, who shared in his advocacy work and supported him through his illness. Daniel’s vision and compassion leave a lasting legacy. He will be deeply missed.

The ECMTF’s full tribute can be found here.
