President’s Message, Vol. 14, February 2025

Feb 3, 2025 | Nerve Connect

Dear Colleagues,

We are thrilled to announce the exceptional response to abstract submissions for the 2025 PNS Annual Meeting in Edinburgh, UK. A record-breaking 585 abstracts were submitted, reflecting a remarkable turnout for our next European meeting.

This year, we are delighted to have seven companies committed as Annual Partners. Our sincere thanks go to Alnylam, Annexon Biosciences, argenx, AstraZeneca, CSL Behring, Sanofi, and Takeda for their unwavering support of the PNS. Their contributions make our meeting possible, enabling us to offer gratis registration to junior member abstract presenters and travel grants to attendees from under-resourced countries.

Building on your feedback from Montreal, we have crafted an engaging program for this year’s meeting. Highlights include:

  • ‘Bench to Bedside’ mini symposia on various transversal topics
  • Joint special interest group meeting showcasing emerging talent
  • Daily Lunch with the Expert roundtable sessions for junior investigators
  • International Outreach Coffee Chat for those joining us from under-resourced nations
  • Breakfast and lunchtime sponsored symposia programs, hosted by PNS Annual Partners
  • Two exciting off-site receptions at the National Museum of Scotland and the Assembly Rooms
  • Re-introduction of clinical cases during the Saturday Education Course
  • Two poster sessions, with posters available for viewing throughout the meeting

We are particularly excited about our two off-site reception events at the National Museum of Scotland and the Assembly Rooms, offering valuable networking opportunities for all delegates. During our opening reception, delegates can explore two of the museum’s must-see exhibits: the Explore Gallery (featuring Dolly, the world-famous cloned sheep) and the Kingdom of Scots Gallery. Our Closing Reception will feature a lively Scottish Ceilidh, promising an unforgettable Scottish experience. Please note that off-site events require an additional ticket purchase and are not included with meeting registration.

Registration for the meeting is now open, and we warmly invite you to join us in Edinburgh. Our heartfelt thanks go to the Edinburgh Local Organizing Committee, Scientific Program Committee, Junior Committee, SIGs, and the dedicated Executive Office team. Their commitment ensures that this will be one of the best PNS meetings yet. For those who have attended in the past, you understand the high standard we aim for. We anticipate an exciting meeting filled with cutting-edge science.

We look forward to welcoming many of you to Edinburgh in May!

Sincerely,

Charlotte Sumner, MD
