Members of the Peripheral Nerve Society have published guidelines on the management of neuropathy in the Journal of the Peripheral Nervous System. These guidelines are periodically reviewed and updated.

CIDP: Clinical Diagnosis Support Interactive Module
This interactive decision-support module is based on the EAN/PNS 2021 Guideline on CIDP. It is designed to assist clinicians in applying the guideline’s diagnostic criteria for Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). You can freely access it on the web, mobile web, and a dedicated app (search: AvoMD).

2027 Call for Guideline Topic Proposals
The Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS) opens a Call for Guideline Topic Proposals to invite PNS Members to submit guideline topics of interest.
The aim is to produce timely, clinically relevant, and high-quality guidelines. When selecting guideline projects to support, PNS ensures that resources and attention are devoted to those areas in which critical practice guidelines will provide the greatest benefit to patients, clinicians, and policy makers through a rigorous prioritization process.
The 2027 Call for Guideline Topic Proposals is 12 March – 4 September 2026
Selection Procedure
All guideline topic proposals will be evaluated by the members of the PNS Guidelines Committee and the PNS Board of Directors using the following criteria:
- The health burden of the condition in the proposed topic
- Impact on health outcomes (estimated positive impact of the guideline on morbidity, disability scores, mortality)
- Potential for changing an existing practice
- Practice variation (non-harmonized best-practices)
- Uncertainty or controversy about best practice (due to new evidence or lack of evidence)
- Absence of a guideline
- Pre-existing guidelines of low quality or outdated guidelines (The guideline is more than 5 years old/was not revised within the last 5 years or there is recent evidence that could change current clinical practice).
PNS Guideline Funding Policy
The PNS funds Board approved guideline projects up to $40,000 USD. The PNS requires all new projects to have co-funding available and encourages limiting face-to-face meetings or combining face-to-face meetings with existing scientific congresses to keep related costs minimal.
