of the Peripheral Nerve SocietyTTNC SIG Spotlight & Call for Workgroup Ideas

In January, the Toxic Neuropathy Consortium (TNC) of the PNS rebranded as the Traumatic Toxic Neuropathy Consortium (TTNC). This change reflects the special interest groups expanded focus on both toxic and traumatic neuropathies. In May, the TTNC Board met to define priorities. Here’s a summary of the outcomes:
Aims
- TTNC serves as a hub within PNS for basic science research exploring axon degeneration and the roles of glial, neuronal, and immune cells in injury and regeneration.
- TTNC aims to translate promising strategies for nerve regeneration into clinical trials, bridging the gap between bench and bedside.
Current Initiatives
- The launch of a collaborative study on the social and economic impact of CIPN
- Ongoing work on the International CIPN Assessment and Validation Study (ICAVS)
- The launch of a TTNC-dedicated webpage highlighting labs with specialized technologies
Call for Workgroup Ideas
With the recent rebranding, TTNC is well-positioned to revisit and expand workgroups to include traumatic neuropathy. We invite all TTNC/PNS members to submit workgroup ideas to TTNC Chair, Dr. Guido Cavaletti at guido.cavaletti@unimib.it. Your ideas will be shared during the TTNC session at the upcoming PNS Annual Meeting in Maastricht.
